Bill Clinton to DNC: "We Face a Clear Choice: ‘We the People’ vs. ‘Me, Myself, and I’"

Bill Clinton was born on August 19, 1946. As of today, he is 78 years old.

Former President Bill Clinton's speech at the Democratic National Convention emphasized the contrast he sees between the values of collective responsibility ("We The People") and self-interest ("Me, Myself, and I") in the 2024 election. He expressed strong support for Kamala Harris, highlighting her ability to address problems, create opportunities, and unite Americans regardless of their political preferences. Clinton praised Harris's qualifications, experience, and positive demeanor as essential qualities for leading the country.

During his speech at the Democratic National Convention, former President Bill Clinton made a light-hearted yet pointed joke at Donald Trump's expense. He remarked, "The stakes are too high, and I’m too old to gild the lily. I actually turned 78 two days ago. And I’m still not quite as old as Donald Trump."

Clinton also drew a stark contrast between Trump and Kamala Harris, noting Trump's consistent divisiveness, blame-shifting, and tendency to belittle others. He humorously described Trump's behavior as creating chaos and then curating it "as if it were precious art."

NBC News reported that Clinton revised his speech after being inspired by the energy and enthusiasm at the convention's first night in Chicago. An aide mentioned that Clinton wanted his speech to capture that spirit, leading him to tear up his original draft and deliver a new version on Wednesday.
